There is perception that CTE teachers are not as pedagogically sound as core instruction teachers. Perhaps this perception is due to the prevalence of alternative teacher certifications among the CTE teaching population, and the assumption this would lead to lower quality teaching. This study compares the annual teacher evaluation scores of CTE and core subject teachers over five years. This session will review teacher evaluation data and discuss implications and next steps in improving teacher quality across the district.
