Afterschool programs are an opportunity to help students plan, prepare, and make decisions on careers and post-secondary education or training. When out of school, students have the space, flexibility, and time to develop their interests, build skills in communication, collaboration and problem solving that employers value. Through activities and experiences such as field trips, career mentors, and hands-on activities, afterschool programs are becoming crucial to the college and career development of school aged youth. This presentation will provide attendees knowledge on how to integrate career and technical education into afterschool programs.
